Art Feature: Sharon Felt

By: Anne Setlik and Cassy Boss

September 16, 2009

Senior Sharon Felt is a member of Jan Keller's Advanced Art Class. She is working on an acrylic painting called "Girl in Slave Pen". This painting features a young African American girl, angrily looking over the fence. The reason for choosing this is, "It would challenge me, skin tones are hard to get correct, especially ethnics," says Felt.

Acrylic paintings can be very difficult at times but you have to decide exactly where you would like a certain color. If you make an error you should layer it with the color needed but it thickens fast and adds a hard texture. So try not to mess up too much and your mistakes can be fixed!
