Ord Speech Finishes Regular Season – Hosts Community Performance

The Ord Speech team traveled to Centura on Friday, February 28. Out of 18 schools, they placed 2nd overall behind Loup City losing only by 6 points. “The kids did fantastic today” said Coach Lansman, “considering we had far fewer entries overall and had almost two weeks off. Loup City has some solid performers and the fact we were only six points behind at the end was fantastic! On Saturday, March 1, the team traveled to Doniphan Trumbull to finish out their regular season with the last large invite of the year. No team sweeps are tallied, but the Chanticleers had another solid day despite some amazing competition from over 25 schools. This coming Thursday, the team will travel to Loup City for a dual in which the top 3 speakers from each school will square off in each category. The schools split costs and buy food for the kids in one last time that speakers receive a critique from a judge. On Sunday, March 10th the Chant Speech Squad would love to invite you to the Golden Husk Theater to hear their district competitors speak! The top 2 speakers in each category will showcase their talents from 5pm-8pm. Desserts and drinks will be provided to the public and a free will donation will be asked for at the event. The team will travel to North Platte on Friday, March 15 for the C1-5 District tournament. The top 3 competitors in each event qualify for state, and will perform Thursday, March 21 at UNK.
