Qualify 12 for State Meet

The Ord High School track teams traveled to Centennial for the C-6 district track meet on Thursday, May 11.  The boys came home with the team title in their portion of the meet while the girls brought home the runner-up plaque.  “As a coaching staff, we were very pleased with the way our kids performed at the meet”, Head Coach Derry Trampe stated.  “I thought our boys had a very good chance to win the meet and I thought our girls would finish anywhere from third to sixth.  The boys did exactly what they needed to do to win the meet and our girls performed well above what I thought they would.  We picked a great time to have our best performances of the season.”  The boys scored 123 points and easily outdistanced runner-up Centura (81).  Wood River finished third with 61 points.  Shelby-Rising City ran away with the girls’ team title by scoring 117 points.  The Chants scored 79 points to secure the second-place plaque.  Grand Island Central Catholic finished in third with 69 points.
