Last Tuesday night the Chants traveled to Adams Central to take on the Patriots. Early in the game, the teams would trade buckets and Adams Central would take a 19-15 victory after the 1st. The Patriots would continue to stay hot from the field and go 8/13 from three before the half. The Chants would find themselves down only down by 12 at half after that onslaught.  The 2nd half would open with a run that would cut the lead to 6. The Patriots would respond and extend the lead to 10. The Chants would make another run at the Patriots but the Patriots would hit back-to-back threes in a row to pull away from the Chants giving the Patriots a 43-58. Blake Hinrichs added 17 points and seven rebounds. Jordan Williams added 13 points. 

Friday Night, the Chants hosted the top 10 Boone Central. The 1st quarter ended in an 11-11 tie. At the end of the 2nd, the Cardinals would pull away to take a four-point lead into the half. The Chants would rally to start the half and tie the game. A late run by the Cardinals would extend the lead to 10. The Chants would fight back getting the lead under five multiple times before falling to the Cardinals 55-48. “We had a lot of good moments tonight and it's hard to come up short like that but hopefully we can grow from it.” Coach Gates said after the game. Talan Bruha and Blake Hinrichs had 15 points and six rebounds each. 

The following night, the Chants hosted Arcadia Loup City. From the outset the Chants would control the game with the Chants scoring in the opening three seconds on a Colton Thompson layup the Chants would race to a lead and never look back. The Chants would take a 12-3  lead after the first and a 33-9 lead after the 1st half. The Chants would finish the game out and take a 65-33 victory. “This was a good win and a nice bounce back after last night.” Coach Gates said after. Three chants were in double figures with Blake Hinrichs with 16, Talan Bruha with 12, and Jordan Williams added 11. Garret Severance added nine points and Colton Thompson led the Chants on the boards with eight rebounds. The Chants will take on Conference foes Wood River on Tuesday and Doniphan Trumbull on Thursday.
