The Ord golf team shot a 339 to finish 3rd at the Boone Central Invite. Norfolk Catholic won the meet and Lakeview was second. The day was great for golf and the scores showed it.
Caden Lytle medaled 4th for the Chants with an 80. Tad Kovarik shot 85 for 13th and Rowe Lilienthal shot 85 for 14th. Will Skibinski shot 89 and Broday Blair shot 94.
Coach Bechtold was pleased with the performance.
“Caden played as well as he has during his short career,” Bechtold said, “So I’m hoping he can maintain that throughout the year.”
Bechtold said all of the players had bright moments and positive results during the meet.
“We all played pretty well and seem to be moving in the right direction.”
The team also participated in the Central City Scramble. Teams of 3 competed in a scramble format. Lilienthal, Kovarik and Lytle shot 4 under. Skibinski, Blair and Dawson Thompson shot 5 over and Deegan Nebesniak, Austin Stethem and Garret Schamp shot 10 over on nine holes. No medals were won on the day.
