The Ord High School track and field teams competed in the West Holt Track and Field Invitational last Thursday and finished third in both team races.  The girls finished with 91.5 points to earn a third-place finish in the 8-team field.  West Holt won the team title with 106 points while Battle Creek was a close second with 105 points.  “I was pleased with how we competed in this meet”, Coach Trampe stated.  “We had several good performances on a windy and chilly day and had 18 personal best marks on the day.”  Rounding out the team scoring were Valentine (61.75), Ainsworth (53.75), North Central (37), Elkhorn Valley (36), and Sandhills/Thedford (36).


The boys scored 98 points in the meet with Battle Creek taking the team title with 141 points and West Holt second with 132 points. “Our boys had a very good day as well”, Trampe said. “We had several good performances on the day and recorded 23 personal best performances in the meet.  We are starting to reach our best performances at the right time of the year.” Rounding out the team scores were Valentine (72), Ainsworth (41), North Central (28), Elkhorn Valley (13), and Sandhills/Thedford (2).


Natalie Williams was the lone gold medalist for the team when she won the long jump with a personal best jump of 16’ 7.5”.  Second place medals were won by Natalie Williams in the 200 (26.59 PB), Maggie Fischer in the 400 (65.86), Marin Reilly in the discus (117’ 11” PB), Trinity Chatfield in the high jump (4’ 10”), Addi Blaha in the pole vault (8’ 0”), the 4 X 400 relay team of Natalie Williams, Claire Cargill, Izzy Jeffres, and Maggie Fischer (4:22.91), and the weight person 4 X 100 relay of Bailey Setlik, Savannah Jacobs, Lillie Shoemaker, and Allison Wheeler (59.39). Third-place medals were won by Jocelyn Hinrichs in the 300 LH (52.27) and the freshmen 4 X 100 relay of Payton Whited, Avery Bruha, Allison Wheeler, and Molly Klimek (58.96). Fourth-place awards went to Maggie Fischer in the 200 (27.57 PB), Elle Jess in the 800 (2:40.51 PB), Jocelyn Hinrichs in the 100 HH (17.61) and the triple jump (32’ 8”), and the 4 X 800 relay team of Elle Jess, Piper Whited, Avery Bruha, and Izzy Jeffres (11:02.74). Piper Whited added a fifth-place finish in the pole vault (7’ 6”).  The 4 X 100 relay team of Shaylee Thomsen, Claire Cargill, Payton Bruha, and Kaci Bruha also finished fifth in a time of 56.10. Sixth place awards were won by Izzy Jeffres in the 300 LH (52.96 PB), Marrin Reilly (35’ 8”), and Klair DeRiso in the long jump (14’ 6.5”).


Gold medal winners for the boys were Blake Hinrichs, Gage Kolar, and the 4 X 800 relay team.  Hinrichs won the triple jump with a leap of 42’ 7” and Kolar won the pole vault with a vault of 11’ 6”.  The relay team of Garret Severance, Gunner Rice, Jace Geiser, and Elijah Pollard won the event in a time of 8:42.78. Silver medals were won by Garret Severance in the 800 (2:09.22), Elijah Pollard in the 1600 (4:44.73 PB), Jed Boettcher in the discus (145’ 3”), and Blake Hinrichs in the long jump (20’ 4”). Damon Stam added a third place finish in the discus with a personal best toss of 142’ 6” and the 4 X 400 relay team of Blake Hinrichs, Garret Severance, Trent McCain, and Elijah Pollard also finished third in time of 3:42.27. Fourth place medals were won by Isaac VanLeer in the 100 (11.49) and Braden Bruha in the 800 (2:16.94 PB). Picking up fifth-place awards were Isaac VanLeer in the 200 (23.27 PB), Gunner Rice in the 800 (2:18.68) and 3200 (11:12.89), Grady Moudry in the 1600 (5:13.04), Colton Thompson in the long jump (18’ 10”), the 4 X 100 relay team of Aidan Ryschon, Jace Geiser, Cainan Rogers, and Isaac VanLeer (46.35), and the weight person 4 X 100 relay team of Kevin Brewer, Colt Meyer, Jed Boettcher, and Damon Stam (52.59). Sixth-place medals were one by Jace Geiser in the 800 (2:24.03), Grady Moudry in the 3200 (11:15.73 PB), Trent McCain in the discus (133’ 11” PB), and Talan Bruha in the long jump (18’ 6.5”).
