The Ord golf team shot it’s season-best round at Kearney’s Meadowlark Hills golf course on Tuesday. The team finished 5th at the 17 team, highly competitive meet. The Chants finished with a 333 on the day besting their score from last weeks O’Neill Invite by ten strokes. Adams Central won the meet with Kearney Catholic second.
Coach Mike Bechtold said he was pleased with the result.
“This meet featured several teams that will vie for state titles this year in every class including the Class C defending champs. So fifth place was pretty good and we shot our best score of the year.”
The Chants were lead by Caden Lytle again, who shot a 5 over 76 to garner a 7th place medal.
“Caden shot a great score against great competition and established himself as one to watch for as a state qualifier.”
Landon Critel shot 83, with Colt Meyer at 86 (season-best), Austin Stethem at 88 (also season-best) and Brody Blair at 91.
Bechtold said “We are steadily improving and getting to the point where we can contend at the district meet. Hopefully we can continue the momentum.”
