The Ord Chanticleers continued their dominant late-season surge Friday night, overwhelming the Cross County Cougars 78–20 in a road rout that showcased their offensive depth and defensive toughness. From the opening kickoff, Ord imposed its will in all three phases of the game, racing out to a 42–0 halftime lead and never looking back.

The Chanticleers wasted no time getting on the board. Grey Geiser opened the scoring with a 14-yard fumble return for a touchdown, setting the tone for a night filled with big plays. Jordan Williams followed with a 34-yard scoring run, and Beau Wells added a 7-yard touchdown to make it 21–0 after one quarter.

In the second quarter, Williams threw three touchdown passes—two to Landon Critel (79 and 10 yards) and another to Haydin Nelson from 38 yards out—as Ord built a commanding 42–0 lead.

The onslaught continued after halftime. Wells scored his second rushing touchdown from 2 yards out before returning an interception 31 yards for another score. Evan Lane broke free for touchdown runs of 54 and 65 yards, and Calvin Thomsen added an 8-yard touchdown run with a two-point conversion to cap the scoring.

Ord’s offense piled up 507 total yards on just 43 plays. Williams completed 7 of 9 passes for 194 yards and three touchdowns, while Lane led the rushing attack with 119 yards and two scores on only two carries. Thomsen added 47 yards and a touchdown, and Wells finished with 35 yards and two rushing scores to go with his defensive touchdown. Critel led the receivers with 89 yards and two touchdowns, and Nelson added another 38-yard score.

Defensively, the Chanticleers forced three turnovers and allowed just 130 rushing yards, while the special teams unit added to the dominance—Colt Meyer went a perfect 8-for-8 on extra points and blasted nine kickoffs for over 440 total yards.

“Our guys played fast, physical, and confident,” Head Coach Nate Wells said. “We executed in every area tonight, and it was great to see so many players step up and make plays.”

The victory improves Ord to 6–2 on the season as they roll into the final week of regular-season play with momentum and confidence. The Chanticleers will look to close strong next Friday at home against Boone Central on Thursday Night.
