ORD, NE - The Ord Chanticleers capped off their regular season in style Friday night, earning a 35–19 home victory over Boone Central. The win secured the C2-4 district title for the Chanticleers’ and the sixth consecutive district championship and also their eighth straight playoff berth.

Ord’s offense clicked early and never looked back, racking up 417 total yards and controlling the game from start to finish. Quarterback Jordan Williams led the way offensively with a great all-around performance, throwing for 212 yards and four touchdowns while adding 99 rushing yards and a score on the ground.

The Chanticleers struck first on 54-yard touchdown catch from Williams to Beau Wells. Both teams traded scores early with Boone Central before Williams connected with Landon Critel on a 26-yard touchdown late in the first quarter to put Ord ahead 14–13 — a lead they would not surrender.

In the second quarter, Williams found Grey Geiser for a 30-yard touchdown strike, extending the lead to 21–13 at halftime. Ord’s passing attack continued to shine in the second half as Haydin Nelson hauled in a 13-yard touchdown in the third quarter, followed by Williams punching in a 2-yard rushing score in the fourth to seal the win.

The Chanticleer defense was solid throughout, forcing two turnovers and limiting Boone Central’s rushing attack to just 87 yards. Kicker Colt Meyer was perfect on the night, converting all five PATs, while also averaging 38 yards per punt and booting three touchbacks on kickoffs.

The Chanticleers now turn their attention to the postseason. Head coach Nate Wells had this to day following the game, “This group has earned everything they’ve accomplished,” he said. “Six straight district titles doesn’t happen by accident — it’s a testament to their hard work, mental and physical toughness, and belief in each other. They understand that success isn’t about who gets the credit,” he said. It’s about serving each other, doing the little things, and trusting that your effort helps the guy next to you and the entire team. That’s what makes this team special.” Ord will be on the road to play Doniphan-Trumbull in the First Round of the Class C2 playoffs next week at 7:00 in Doniphan.
