On Tuesday night, the Chants traveled to Atkinson to take on West Holt. The Chants and Huskies traded early baskets before the Chants were able to take control late in the 1st quarter, taking a 19-10 lead. In the 2nd quarter, the Chants were able to extend the lead and capped the half with a buzzer-beating lay-up by Jordan Williams to take a 41-18 lead. From there, the Chants would never look back and take a 73-46 win. “We did some good things on both ends of the floor.” Coach Gates said after the game.  The Chants had three players in double figures, with Beau Wells adding 19 points. Jordan Williams added 16 points. Landon Criel added 13 points. Levi Klein added nine points. Critel recorded his first career double-double, adding ten rebounds to go with five assists. 

On Friday Night, the Chants hosted Kearney Catholic. The game started with teams often trading buckets, but the Chants were able to take a 10-8 lead after the 1st quarter. The Chants took the 2nd quarter 14-13 and a 24-21 lead at the half.  “Our defense really carried us in the first half,” Coach Gates said after the game. In the third quarter, the Chants were able to bust out to a 14-point lead after the 3rd quarter. The Chants would grow the lead to 20 before the Stars would rally to cut the lead to 11 when an Easton Ryschon jumper would seal the game and win for the Chants. The Chants would take the game 56-43. Beau Wells led the Chants with 19 points and would get 10 of those points from the free throw line. Landon Critel added ten points in the win. Easton Ryschon would add nine. The Chants will host Centura on Saturday, followed by GICC before the holiday break.
