On Friday night, the Chants traveled to St. Paul to take on the Wildcats. The game started as an offensive battle with the Wildcats taking a 21-15 lead. “We did not play as well on the defensive end as we needed to start the game, but we flipped a switch in the 2nd quarter.” Coach Gates said after the game. In the 2nd quarter, the Chants would rally to take a 31-26 lead. The 3rd quarter would end with the Chants going on a run, capped off by back-to-back 3’s by Beau Wells to take a 47-38 lead. The Wildcats would eventually cut the lead to one before a putback by Jordan Williams would put the Chants up three, and a closing layup by Landon Critel would give the Chants a 57-52 victory. The Chants were led by Jordan Williams with 20 points and six rebounds. Beau Wells would add 19 points in the win. Knox Nelson would record seven rebounds to lead the Chants. The Chants will travel to Adams Central on Tuesday before hosting Boone Central on Friday and Arcadia Loup City on Saturday.
