The Chant Golf Team finished the regular season on a high note, winning the Fullerton Invitational. Ord shot 326 at Steepleview Golf Course in Humphrey to edge Boone Central who shot 328. David City was third.
It was the first championship of the season for the Chants, after 3 runner up plaques and 2 third place finishes.
Coach Bechtold said it was well deserved.
“The boys have competed at a high level all season and have run into a lot of great teams along the way. So it was great to finally get a win.”
Caden Lytle shot three over for 75 and a runner up medal to lead the Chants.
“Caden has been a steady rock all year long for us and has medaled at every meet. He has had one of the more impressive seasons for a Chant golfer in several years.” Bechtold said.
Landon Critel medaled 6th with a 78 and Brody Blair medaled 10th with an 84.
Bechtold said Critel has stepped up his game in past weeks. “ Landon has really taken a step and has now moved himself into the top ten conversation at every meet.”
Colt Meyer shot 89 with a blistering 38 on the back nine. Austin Stethem rounded out the card with a 100.
The Chants also bested ALC in a dual on Monday 168 -184. Lytle shot 38 and Grey Geiser 41 for the Chants. Districts is in Hastings on Monday May 18th.
