Week of August 17th (WOW! A WEEK TO REMEMBER)
Where do I begin with my THANK YOUs!! The storm that hit put everyone into emergency mode. The field needed so much attention before making it safe to play Thursday and WE DID it. My heart is overflowing, I feel so blessed to be a part of this amazing community.
Thank you to Robbie Kolar & the City crew, the Ord Public school Custodians, Ryan Callan and our School Administration, AC/DC Electric, the Jacobsen family, the families that helped clean the large park, my daughter Ellie, and TO EVERYONE ELSE who came out to go above and beyond to make Thursday happen.
Also, THANK YOU to everyone who came out and supported us at our home opener vs. Kearney Catholic. Our BBQ fundraiser was a fantastic success! Thank you to the parents who helped and to Speeds Apple Market, The Grocery Kart, Longhorn Lanes, Trotters, Petska Backhoe & plumbing and to the parents for the generous donations to make it so successful. Thank you to Burdette’s Locker for making the meat, it was delicious!
Your Chanticleer Softball team is off to a fantastic start! We finished our week with 2 WINS and 2 losses. A huge accomplishment was when we left the tournament in Wayne on Saturday, August 22nd with two wins (this was the first time that we came home with 2 victories.) A lot of girls are seeing the field and I am absolutely so proud of the girls' effort. We are playing strong and finishing each game with confidence. Our defense and our offense has improved so much in just 4 games. I am looking forward to seeing us take on GICC on Tuesday, August 25th in Doniphan and then we will head to Hastings for a triangular vs. Adams Central and Fairbury on Thursday, August 27th.
We are looking forward to representing this community and continuing to bring home more victories along with creating team unity and making memories that will last a lifetime! Our next home game will be on Saturday, September 5th at noon. We are hosting a triangular vs. Lexington and Alliance.
