Ord High School hosted its annual tournament on September 19th, 2026. Teams that participated were: Ord, Ansley-Litchfield, Amherst, GICC, Hershey, and West Holt. The Chants first came up against Ansley-Litchfield, winning the match 25-17, 25-18. They then took on GICC, which proved to be a tougher match, with the Chants coming out on top 2-1 with scores of 25-22, 17-25, and 25-21. Winning the first two matches boosted the Chants into the championship match, taking on returning Class D1 2025 State Champions, Amherst. The Chants came out and narrowly lost the first set 25-27, coming back out and edging the Broncos 25-16 and coming out on top 25-23. The Chant Volleyball team was led in kills (30 kills) by freshman opposite hitter, Brinley Snyder; in digs by senior libero, Payton Bruha (50), assists (19) by sophomore setter, Brylie Collier, aces (9) by senior defensive specialist, Raegan Thompson, and blocks by sophomore middle blocker, Kynlie Wilson (4) and Brinley Snyder (4). Coach Smith shares, “This team is full of grit and desire to win. We have an extremely balanced offense, and any one of our hitters can get kills at any time, so it makes it difficult to know where our Brylie (setter) is going to go. They did a fantastic job of showing what they can do today. Our serve receive passed well and our defense was able to keep our offense in system with some big digs at big moments. I am incredibly proud of their teamwork and efforts today.”
