CENTURA- The 7-0 Ord Chanticleer football traveled to Centura on Friday to take on the Centurions. The Chanticleers took the opening kickoff and marched down the field and Garret Kluthe scored on a 6 yard pass from Zach Smith. The Chanticleer defense would hold them on 4 downs and on a couple of plays Tommy Stevens would score on a 5-yard run. Once again, the defense would hold them. At the end of the 1st quarter it was the Chanticleers 13-0 and on the second play of the 2nd Quarter Tommy Stevens would score on a 79-yard touchdown run. This was Tommy’s longest touchdown run of his career to this point. The defense held again on the next possession and Tommy would score on a 1-yard touchdown. In the second quarter the Chanticleers scored 35 points causing turnovers and capitalizing on those turnovers with touchdowns. Other scores of the half were a 4-yard and 7-yard touchdown run from Zach Smith, and 4-yard touchdown run from Garret Kluthe. At the end of the half, the score was 48-0. In the 3rd quarter, Tommy Stevens scored his 4th touchdown of the game on a 1-yard run. The last score of the game was a John DeRiso 4-yard touchdown run. Once again, the Chanticleers dominated in all phases of the game. The offense was very efficient, not having to punt in the game. The defense only gave up 3 first downs through 3 quarters and the Chanticleers are plus 17 for the year in turnover margin.
