Chants Fall To Bow

On Tuesday night which turned out to be the only game of what was to be a busy week for the Chanticleer boys they traveled to Broken Bow to take on the Indians. The Indians started out on fire and would shoot 60% from three in the 1st half but the Chants would rally in the 1st quarter to cut the lead to two before the 2nd quarter. The teams would battle back and forth before a late run by the Indians allowed for them to take a 15 point lead at the halff. In the 3rd quarter the Chants would rally by holding the Indians scoreless for the first 3 minutes before cutting the lead to ten at the end of the 3rd quarter. In the 4th the Chants would continue to crawl back into the game. The Chants would cut the lead down to four with four minutes left in the game but the Chants would get no closer and be forced to foul in the final minutes. The Chants would fall 64-50 “I was happy how we rallied back into the game multiple times.” Coach Gates said. “We just weren’t ever able to get all the way back. The Chants were led by Quinton Ries with 19 points and eight rebounds. Blake Wells added 14 points and Johnny DeRiso added ten for the Chants. The Chants will close the regular season with Ravenna before a rematch with Broken Bow in sub-districts.
