The Chant Boys seasoned ended in a very competitive game on Monday night. The game started well for the Chants and jumped out to a quick 7-2 lead but the Indians would answer with a 9-0 run to take an 11-7 lead after the 1st quarter. The 2nd quarter the Chants would ratchet up the defense and win the quarter 10-3 capped off with a buzzer beating three by Blake Wells. Broken Bow would take a one point lead after the 3rd quarter. The 4th quarter would feature multiple ties and lead changes before a basket and foul would give the Indians a three point lead with a minute and half left. The Chants would not ever get the lead back and the Indians would prevail with 34-32 victory. “That's a tough way to end the season as we played really well except for finishing some shots and sometimes that happens.” Coach Gates said. I am really proud of the effort these guys had the past few weeks and that really showed tonight we just came up a little short.” The Chants were led by Quinton Ries with nine points and seven rebounds. Johnny DeRiso would add eight points for the Chants. Riley Setlik would chip in for the Chants. The loss would end the Chants season and be the last game for seniors Zach Smith, Bronson Blair, Tommy Stevens, Riley Setlik and Quinton Ries.
