Broken Bow- The 2-1 Chanticleers went on the road for the 2nd time this year to play the 3-0  Broken Bow Indians. The Chanticleers started fast with a 40 yard kickoff return from Gage Racek into Bow territory. Three plays later Dylan Hurlburt raced 44-Yds for the first score of the game to make it 7-0. Later in the quarter after a Chant defensive stop, John DeRiso scored on a 12-Yd pass from Dylan Hurlburt to make the score 14-0 at the end of the quarter. The second quarter was a scoreless battle as the two defenses held each other out of the endzone. The Chants led 14-0 going into halftime. In the third quarter, after a goal line stand, the Chanticleers drove the length of the field on a 98-Yd yard touchdown drive when Dylan Hurlburt connected with Gage Racek on a 26-Yd touchdown reception. At the end of 3 quarters, the Chanticleers led 21-0. At the beginning of the 4th quarter, the Indians finally got on the board on a 4-Yd touchdown run. On the next possession, the Chanticleers would close the game out with a 1-Yd touchdown run from Dylan Hurlburt. Ryan Gabriel led a physical stout defensive effort with 12 tackles. The Chanticleers also picked off the Indians twice with interceptions from Gage Racek and John DeRiso. The offensive and defensive line controlled the game and played extremely well. Special teams were also very solid. Coach Wells said, “Last game left a sour taste in our mouths. We knew we could play better and learn from the week before. If we continue to get better each week, not very many teams are going to want to play the Chanticleers.” The Chants will be back home this week to play the Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals. Come out and support the Chanticleers!
