On Tuesday night the Chant boys hosted 3-1 Hastings St. Cecilia. St. Cecilia was able to grab a quick led but the Chants responded to cut the deficit to six at the end of the first quarter. The Chants would keep cutting double-digit Bluehawks leads down to six and eight multiple times before late free throws by the Bluehawks widen the deficit and pulled away for a 52-37 victory. “We weren’t able to get over the hump and turn our defensive momentum into points tonight.” Coach Gates said after. The Chants were led by Will Grint with 15 points and eight rebounds. Cade Geiser added 10 points for the Chants. 

On Saturday, the Chants hosted conference foe Centura. The Chants were able to grab an early lead in the 1st quarter of 17-15. In the 2nd quarter, the Chants would explode offensively and grab a 13 point lead at halftime. “We did a great job of attacking on both ends of the floor in the 1st half.” “That is why we were able to grab the lead we did” Gates added. By the end of the 3rd, the Centurians would begin to grab the momentum. Centura would take a hot shooting 2nd half to grab a lead and never give back. Late free throws would seal the 67-62 win for Centura.  Centura would end the game shooting over 50% from behind the arc. “I am proud of the way we played tonight we just weren’t quite able to overcome how hot they got in the 2nd half.” Coach Gates said. The Chants were led by Blake Hinrichs with 25 points and six rebounds. Will Grint would add 16 points and Calen Pollard would chip in 8. The Chants next game is in the Sidney holiday tournament vs Mitchell on December 27th
