The Ord High School track and field teams got their season started this last Saturday at the annual UNK Indoor Invitational.  The team competed in the C/D portion of the meet.  “There were not a lot of teams at the meet, but it was a great meet for us to get started”, Coach Derry Trampe commented.  “It was fun to watch our kids compete again this year.  We have some very competitive athletes on our team this year and they showed that on Saturday.  I am looking forward to seeing how we progress as the season continues.”  No teams scores were kept in the meet that featured Hastings, North Central, Ord, and South Loup.

First place medal winners for the girls team were Marin Reilly in the 400 (69.44), Britta Deden in the 55 HH (9.64), Kaidence Wilson in the high jump (4’ 10”), and Lexis Vancura in the long jump (16’ 2.5”) and the triple jump (32’ 11”).  Second place medals went to Nikie Nelson in the 400 (69.44), Macy Warner in the 3200 (14:58.97), Journi Moran in the triple jump (32’ 4”), Alli Moudry in the shot put (33’ 6”), and the 4 X 800 relay team of Maggie Fischer, Piper Whited, Izzy Jeffres, and Claire Cargill (11:25.18).  Third place medals were won by Marin Reilly in the shot put (33’ 5.5”) and discus (94’ 7”), Brookelyn Fox in the pole vault (7’ 6”), and Britta Deden in the 200 (28.53). Fourth place medals went to Lexis Vancura in the high jump (4’ 8”), Journi Moran in the long jump (13’ 10.5”), Alli Moudry in the discus (91’ 7”), and the 4 X 400 relay team of Maggie Fischer, Piper Whited, Izzy Jeffres, and Claire Cargill (5:50.62). Jocelyn Hinrichs finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 30’ 1.5” and Valeria Arellano placed 6th in the mile run in a time of 7:32.42.

First place medal winners for the boys included Jacob Stam in the shot put (44’ 11.75”), Cainan Rogers in the discus (128’ 7” PB), Blake Wells in the pole vault (11’ 0”), and the 4 X 400 relay team of John DeRiso, Calen Pollard, Aidan Ryschon, and Owen Lane (3:47.73).  Second place medal winners included John DeRiso in the 400 (54.17), Will Grint in the shot put (44’ 11.75” PB), and Gage Racek in the long jump (18’ 6.5”).  Will Grint added a third place medal in the discus (117’ 7”) along with the 4 X 800 relay team of Blake Hinrichs, Grady Moudry, Elijah Pollard, and Calen Pollard (9:55.73).  Owen Lane picked up a 4th place medal in the 400 with a time of 57.55 and Aidan Ryschon finished 4th in the pole vault with a jump of 10’ 0”.  Fifth place medals were won by Elijah Pollard in the mile run (5:35.81), Damon Stam in the discus (111’ 10”), and Trent McCain in the triple jump (33’ 9.5”).  Sixth place medals went to Trent McCain in the shot put (38’ 4.25” PB), Sam Boettcher in the discus (110’ 0”), Ryan Gabriel in the long jump (17’ 8”), and Jace Geiser in the pole vault (10’ 0”).
