In the second quarter, the Chanticleers struggled to get the ball moving offensively and stopping the Knights defensively. The Knights added two more scores before the half to make it 28-7 going into halftime. The third quarter was a stalemate as neither team was able to find the endzone. At the start of the fourth quarter, Norfolk Catholic scored on a 52 yd pass to make the 35-7. The Chanticleers kept fighting and were able to score once more when Dylan Hurlburt scored on a 19 yd run. The game ended with the score being 35-14. Coach Wells said after the game, “I was proud of how physical we were in the game but disappointed with the execution at times. When you play a great team like them, you have to execute at a really high level. We didn’t do that tonight. If we can get some guys healed up and stay relatively healthy for the rest of the year, the sky is the limit for our team. There is no doubt in mind that these great young men will continue to improve every week.” The Chants will go on the road next week and take on another quality opponent, Battle Creek.
