Chants Drop Rebels

The boys week was again changed by weather with a game at Boone Central being postponed. After the postponement the Chants hosted the Arcadia-Loup City Rebels on Saturday night. The Rebels started the game strong and the Chants came out flat. The Rebels were able to take a four point lead after the 1st quarter. The Rebels would then build their lead to a 12 points in the middle of the 2nd quarter before the Chants would get hot from beyond the arc. The Chants would quickly cut the lead and even grab the lead before two late free throws by the Rebels would tie the game at 24 before half. The third quarter would belong to the Chants. With the Chants taking an 8 point lead with a Riley Werner three at the buzzer at the end of the quarter. That lead would quickly evaporate when the Rebels would hit back to back 3’s to start the 4th. From there the game would go back and forth with the Chants taking a 2 point lead on a Reese Davenport 3 with less than two minutes left. Solomon Campise would hit another 3 to stretch the lead to five with less than a minute to go. Hayden Grint would seal the win with four late free throws for a 55-48 victory. Solomon Campise led the Chants with 15 points. Hayden Grint, Zach Smith, and Riley Warner each added 12 points in the win. The Chants will travel to Wood River on Tuesday before taking on Doniphan Trumbull on Thursday.
