Ord - The Ord Chanticleers were at home this week to take on the Broken Bow Indians for Homecoming. On a beautiful night for football, the Chanticleers kicked off to the Indians to start the game. The Chants forced a punt on Broken Bow's first drive. After getting one first down, the Chants punted the ball away to the Indians and they would take the ball down the field and scored on a 17-yard run. After a fast first quarter, the Indians led 7-0. The Chants responded quickly on the next drive when Blake Hinrichs connected with Talan Bruha for a 28-yard pass and catch to tie the game at 7-7. After a big fourth down stop by the Chanticleer defense, the offense drove the ball right down the field and Trent McCain scored on an 11-yard run. The Chanticleers scored one more time on a tremendous two-minute drive when Blake Hinrichs ran the ball in from 5 yards out to make the game 21-7 at the half. The second half was all Chanticleers as they would score twice in the third quarter on runs from Trent McCain from 14 yards and 24 yards. After three quarters, it was 35-7 Chants. The Chants scored one more time in the fourth on a 1-yard touchdown from Easton Ryschon. The final in Ord was 42-7. Coach Wells commented after the game, “What a game. We are finally starting to click on all cylinders. We have great young men on our team who are growing together each week. Very proud of our team.” The Chanticleers will be at home again this week on Thursday to take on Centura.
