Ord - The Ord Chanticleers were at home for the final regular season game of the year to take on the Centura Centurions. On a beautiful night in Bussell Park, the Chanticleers received the ball first and marched the ball down the field scoring on a 45-yard touchdown run from Trent McCain. The Chant defense came and strong and forced a three and out on Centura’s first drive. The Chants would the drive the ball down the field again scoring on a 3-yard touchdown pass from Blake Hinrichs to Talan Bruha. The Chants would score one more time in the quarter on a Blake Hinrichs 2-yard run. The score at the end of one quarter was 21-0. The Chanticleers would continue their dominant performance in the second quarter by scoring twice on runs from Trent McCain from 9 and 38-yards. The half ended 36-0. The Chants wanted to continue their strong play in the second half. After forcing another three and out on the Centurions opening possession, the Chant offense scored their last touchdown of the night on a 29-yard touchdown from Trent McCain. Centura added a couple scores in the 4th quarter to make the final score 43-16. Coach Wells commented after the game, “As a team, we wanted to build off the momentum from the week before against Broken Bow. We came out and played very solid in all three phases of the game and accomplished that goal. Our offensive line has carried us throughout the year and done an excellent job and our defense is really starting to play championship caliber defense.” The Chanticleers will be at home for the first round of the playoffs to face Chase County at 7:00 P.M.
