The Chants started the week by hosting Adams Central. The game did not start well for the Chanticleers with the Patriots taking a 16-1 lead after the 1st quarter. “We got some good looks that did not go in but I applaud our guys for rallying back.” Coach Gates said. During the 2nd quarter, the Chants offense would wake up and begin to rally against the Patriots. Leading to a 27-19 lead for the Patriots. The rally would continue with the Chants cutting the deficit and keeping under five for most of the 3rd quarter till a 7-0 run would give the Patriots an 11-point lead after the 3rd quarter. The Patriots would hang on for a 47-33 victory. After the 1st quarter we played really well and that was very encouraging tonight.” Coach Gates said after the game. The Chants were led by Blake Hinrichs with 20 points and nine rebounds. Garret Severance would add eight points for the Chants and Colton Thompson would have seven rebounds. 

On Friday the Chants traveled to the top 10 Boone Central. The Chants appeared they would be able to keep pace with the Cardinals but two late buckets extended the Cardinal's lead to nine before the end of the 1st quarter. The Cardinal would keep the momentum and extend their lead to 18 before the half. The Cardinal would go on to close out the Chants for a 74-39 victory. The Chants were led by Garret Severance with 14 points and Blake Hinrichs would chip in eight in the loss. 

Saturday night the Chants hosted Arcadia-Loup City. The game opened with the teams trading buckets before a late 3-pointer gave the Rebels a seven-point lead at the end of the 1st. The Chants would rally back to tie the game at halftime at 25-25. “We did a good job of countering their run at the end of the 1st to get tied up by halftime.” Coach Gates said after the game. The third quarter would see the Rebels take a one-point lead into the 4th. In the 4th, the Chants would take a 35-34 lead they would never surrender. A bucket and two late free throws by Jaden Sanders would help seal the 53-49 victory. “On the offensive end, we had a lot of guys hit some big shots in the 4th which helped us keep the lead.” Coach Gates said. The Chants were led by Blake Hinrichs with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Garret Severance added 12 points for the Chants and Colton Thompson added seven rebounds for the Chants. The Chants will go to Wood River on Tuesday before hosting Doniphan Trumbull on Thursday before the
