On Tuesday, the Chants traveled to Broken Bow to take on the Indians. The game opened up with the Indians starting off strong hitting two quick three-pointers but the Chants would answer and cut the deficit but found themselves down 11-6 after the 1st quarter. In the 2nd quarter, the Chants would take by a score of 15-6. “We got some good looks in the 1st half and in the 2nd quarter we were able to knock a few of those down.” Coach Gates said after. In the 3rd the Indians would take the lead back before the Chants began their run towards the end of the 3rd quarter. The Chants would then overtake the Indians and hold on for a 37-35 victory. The Chants were led by Blake Hinrichs with 17 points. Garret Severance added nine for the Chants. Jace Geiser added five points and five rebounds for the Chants. “That was a good win for us and our guys had to earn that one.” Coach Gates said after the game.

Friday night the Chants hosted the O’Neill Eagles. From the opening possession, the Eagles were shooting the ball well and the Eagles would hit one of the 12s they would hit for the game. “Their ability to shoot the ball puts pressure on you to score and we didn’t convert some looks and they were able to put us in a hole.” Coach Gates said. The Eagles would take a 37-14 lead at the half and never look back. Allowing the Eagles to take a 71-38 victory over the Chants. The Chants were led by Blake Hinrichs with 12 points and seven rebounds. Garret Severance added 10 points for the Chants.The Chants will have their last regular season game on Friday vs Ravenna before subdistrict play.
