10:00am Late Start Due to Winter Weather on Monday, October 26th. Students may report at 9:45 for entrance into buildings. Snow is expected to continue through the night ending early in the morning, but icy roads, blowing winds, and negative wind chill temperatures will also affect early morning travel routines. If the weather situation escalates to warrant further changes to our day tomorrow, communication will be to families as early as possible. We understand the challenges that schedule changes have on our families and we will always do our best to get communication to families in a timely manner. We didn't get our annual winter weather guidelines shared yet this year because it is ONLY OCTOBER!!! ACK! Nevertheless, here we go: *Our staff is monitoring the weather and we are in frequent communication with the National Weather Service and other local school districts, along with local law enforcement when monitoring winter driving conditions. While we talk to other districts, our situations are all different, therefore our decisions may not be the same in all weather events. *We make the decision based, above all else, regarding the safety of our students. *MOST IMPORTANTLY--Parents may always keep students home if they do not think it is safe. You know your situation better than anyone. Simply call the school to let us know. If weather permits later in the day for your student to attend, we would love to see them....even if they are late. Your student is always welcome! *Winter in Nebraska can be challenging. Dress in warm layers, limit time outdoors, and make alternate arrangements if your student usually walks to school. Above all, be safe---you all are the most important part of Chant Nation!
