OPS Parents--Please check your emails for a Re-opening Schools Survey Invitation. The survey was sent to the email(s) that we have on file for your student.
If you did not receive an email by 3:00 today or need to update your email address, please contact the District Office at 728-5013 ext 6. Some families may get more than one invite due to multiple email addresses on file. Families only need to fill out one survey regardless of number of students that attend. Chant Nation!! We are getting closer to the start of the 2020-21 school year with the first scheduled day of classes August 18th. Ord Public Schools is planning on starting on-time and in full session....meaning all kids, every day, each day. The health of our community is what will dictate these plans so keep doing a great job of staying healthy Ord!
Throughout the school closure in the spring, planning over the summer, and in regards to the upcoming school year, we have worked on making decisions in a two-week window for planning purposes. We have found that planning for longer range scenarios than this has been difficult with the ever-changing landscape during the pandemic and thus leads to confusion when trying to determine what restrictions, guidelines, or recommendations will guide schools re-opening. Things are still changing on a quick timeline.
Plans for the 2020-21 school year in regards to expectations, restrictions, and health guidance will be shared by the end of July. In the meantime, we are working hard on making plans and adjustments so we can welcome our students and staff back in August. A parent survey will be coming out this week and sent to the parent email that is on file with the district. Orientation sessions will be scheduled for Kindergarten and 7th Grade. The community support has been greatly appreciated throughout this entire process. We appreciate all that you continue to do to support your students and your community. Congratulations to CJ Hoevet who represented Ord High School in the Shrine Game yesterday. This is the 2nd consecutive year an Ord Chanticleer has participated in the game.
Parents of Bus Riders--If you have not turned in your Intent To Ride Forms for the 2020-21 school year, please do so as soon as possible. They were due June 26 and route planning is happening. If you do not fill out and submit the form, you will not be included on route planning. If you need assistance with this or an additional form, please contact the District Office at 728-5013 ext. 6. Over the summer, we have planned maintenance projects that will require the stadium, field, and track to be closed for short periods of time. When we paint, fertilize, or make repairs, it is not safe for community members to be on the track, field, or stadium. We realize that many of our community members use the track for exercise so wanted to communicate this information and keep everyone safe. If the walk-through gate is locked and closed, the track, field, and stadium is also closed. If the gate is unlocked, please feel free to use the facilities for exercise. Thank you for your cooperation.

Ord students in grades 7-12 interested in participating in cross country next fall should email Mr. Trampe at dtrampe@ordps.org. If you would like a summer running log, please let Mr. Trampe know. Please run on your own over the summer. There will be no group runs this summer.
OHS Students: Please return all school related materials to the high school front office by May 22nd. Materials include textbooks, library books, chromebooks, etc. Please bring materials in a plastic sack with your name on it. See you soon!
Ord Elementary end of the year student material pick up is TODAY from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. We encourage you to keep your Chromebook, but if you would like to return it, please do so along with any library books or school materials.

Head volleyball coach Riley Smith is having a zoom meeting for Ord high school girls interested in playing volleyball. The meeting is Tuesday, May 19 @ 10:00 am. If you have not signed up for the team and would like to attend the meeting, contact Coach Smith at rsmith@ordps.org.
Ord Elementary parents/guardians please pick up your student’s end of the year materials, awards and certificates at OES on Monday, May 18th between 8AM-5PM. Much like morning drop off, please stay in your vehicle and we will deliver your student's materials curbside. Simply pull up and staff will deliver the materials to you. We encourage you to keep your student's Chromebook for extended learning throughout the summer. If you do not want the responsibility of the Chromebooks over the summer, please return it and any library books on this day.
