Please come by OHS if you would like to have 2-3 Grab and Go Breakfasts and Lunches for your children. All children 18 and Under can get these meals free of charge. Children do not need to be present. If you are unable to make it to the school and would like meals for your children, please contact either school office and we will make arrangements to get the food to you.

Guidelines that will need to be followed regarding activities at Ord Public Schools during our school closure period are as follows: Activity/Sports Practices--Coaches and sponsors will not meet with the participants in their respective activities during this time. If students want to communicate with their coaches, they can but they should not meet with them for direct instruction. Accessibility to Indoor Facilities--Students and community members will not be allowed to use the indoor facilities of Ord Public Schools during the closure. This allows us to keep the facilities clean and disinfected for the safety of all involved. Outdoor Facilities--The track and golf course will be available for students that want to work on improving their skills. However, please limit the number of students that would be in a group. You will want to keep distance between yourself and the other people that may be using the track or the golf course. The school will not provide equipment for practice. For example, we will not make pole vault poles, shot puts, discuses, or high jump standards available for student use. This is a liability issue that we need to avoid. Again, this is in accordance with guidelines that are currently set. We would encourage students to get some type of workout in if they desire but there will be NO mandatory practice sessions during the school closure. As per NSAA guidelines, a coach may not provide direct instruction to more than 4 athletes at one time when a season is not in session. Since the spring activities seasons have been suspended, they are now considered not in session. Since school is not in session, no coach or sponsor will be meeting with students. Our coaches must adhere to this ruling. We will update these guidelines if and when we receive more information and direction from the NSAA and the other government agencies that are monitoring our current situation. Thank you to all for your patience and understanding as we work our way through these unusual times. Derry Trampe, Activities Director

OPS Families, We are working on developing a plan to continue the school lunch program through a "Grab-and-Go" delivery. On Wednesday, March 18th from 11:00am - 1:00pm, we will be providing a Take-Out Lunch and Breakfast for our students. Families that are interested may drive up curbside at Ord High School by Entrance 20 by the New Gym to get 2-3 lunches and 2-3 breakfasts per student. With the anticipated winter weather in our area on Thursday, this will be the only pick-up this week. Our plans are to have this on a daily basis starting next week. This is an evolving plan and we will do our best to adjust to the needs of our students. Priority is to get breakfast/lunches to our students as soon as possible until we can have a daily meal provided for our students. If you have food concerns for your family, please contact either school office and we will help your family.

In guidance with updated recommendations from the CDC to limit gathering of more than 10 persons, the Nebraska Department of Education Commissioner has recommended schools closing to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Effective immediately, the Ord Public Schools will be closed through April 3rd. This is a rapidly changing situation and we will do our best to keep our community updated on changes. Administrators and staff will be working to provide for the nutrition and educational needs of our students during this closure. More information will be shared with our community as soon as plans have been finalized. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work together to navigate these unprecedented times.

The NSAA has suspended all practices in sponsored activities until March 30 and any competitions until April 2. This may be extended as needed. Therefore Ord Public Schools will not have any practices in golf, speech, or track until the NSAA allows schools to practice again.
