It has been a great Homecoming Week! Pictures from the fun dress up days and a link to the Student Pep Rally will be shared later via the App and FB. Here are few updates to the week in case you missed it: *Student Pep Rally is for students/staff but will be Live Streamed for community members at a link to be shared later today. *Homecoming Game is tonight at 7:00 against the Sutton Mustangs. In aligning with NSAA spectator expectations and due to current Covid situations, masks are required for spectators for the entire event, including when seated in stands and standing along fence-lines. *Homecoming Dances are Saturday with Jr High at 7:00-8:30and Sr High at 9:00-11:30. Event plans have been approved by the Loup Basin Health Department. The following modifications have been put in place when planning: Masks Required, Shortened Event Time, Larger Venue, and Restricted Guest Lists (Ord Students Only). We are fortunate to be able to celebrate this week as many schools are unable to. Thank you for helping us keep our kids in school and activities/athletics happening!

In keeping with open and transparent communication, we are sharing that we have reported an additional case of a staff member testing positive for Covid-19 that has job responsibilities at both OES and OHS. Out of an abundance of caution and to ensure that everything possible to minimize additional cases or additional quarantine situations stemming from this positive case is being done, students at OHS will continue to be required to wear masks until further notice and students at OES will now be required to wear masks unless outside and social distanced. We realize the unique challenges that this brings to our schools but we must do everything possible to work towards our goal of All Students, All Day, Every Day. The staff case is reported as community spread but is not believed to be related to the previous positive student or staff cases. Due to masks being used, the quarantine impact on other staff members is minimal. Close contact with student athletes was identified outside of school where masks were not present, therefore there are a small number of students quarantining, but no student contacts from the school day are needing to quarantine at this point. Family members and close contact individuals have been directed to quarantine per the Loup Basin guidelines. Additional deep cleaning is occurring in high contact areas in both buildings. We will continue to monitor the health of our local community and work with Loup Basin Health Department to communicate our Operational Zones. The Return To School Plan can be found at the Ord Public Schools website www.ordps.org.
